HOUSTON, Texas – The Huskies host McNeese for the conference home opening series at Husky Field on Friday, March 31^st through Sunday, April 2^nd.

HCU is 12-33 all-time against McNeese and went 2-4 during the 2022 conference season, winning the first two matchups. The Huskies are 4-12 at Husky Field since 2008 against McNeese with their last win coming in game one of the 2019 conference series.

Junior outfielder Samuel Benjamin leads the way batting .342 on the season including 22 RBIs, 14 runs, and six doubles for the Huskies (3-20, 1-2). Benjamin is on a seven-game hitting streak batting .379 with five runs, four doubles, and 11 RBIs. Redshirt junior Reed Chumley has recorded multiple hits in four of his last eight games, batting .300 average on the year with 12 runs, 12 RBIs, seven doubles, and three home runs.

Freshman outfielder Damian Ruiz is hitting .284 with a homerun, 15 RBIs, 11 runs, and four doubles. Freshman outfielder Trent Baker is also on a seven-game hitting streak with seven runs, four stolen bases, two RBIs, seven walks, and two doubles.
 
Josh Leslie is hitting .340 with 24 runs, 36 RBIs, 14 doubles, and five home runs for the Cowboys (17-8, 1-2). Cooper Hext is batting .294 with 30 runs, 21 RBIs, five home runs, four triples, and six doubles while Brad Burckel's batting average is .289 with 19 runs, 16 RBIs, five doubles, and four home runs.
