LAKE CHARLES, La. - HBU opens Southland Conference play on the road against McNeese in a three-game series Friday through Sunday at Joe Miller Ballpark.
 
 Junior catcher Parker Edwards is hitting .382 for the Huskies (6-15, 0-0 SLC), with three home runs, five doubles, 12 RBIs and eight runs and has an extra-base hit in six of his last eight games. Junior centerfielder Austin Roccaforte is hitting .286 with three doubles, a triple, six RBIs, 10 runs and has walked 17 times for a .459 on-base percentage, while senior infielder Jake Miller is batting .261 with a home run, a double, five RBIs and 10 runs. Junior shortstop Diego Davila is hitting .325 (13-for-40) over the last 12 games.
 
The Huskies will likely start junior righthander Daxton Tinker (0-3, 6.23 ERA), senior righthander Jared Burch (0-2, 3.51 ERA) and junior righthander Will Ripoll (1-2, 4.63 ERA). Seniro righthander Andrew Reitmeyer leads HBU with three saves.
 
Brad Burckel is hitting .381 with four home runs, six doubles, a triple, 16 RBIs and 23 runs for the Cowboys (11-10, 0-0), while Payton Harden is hitting .361 with six doubles, 12 RBIs and 17 runs. Tre Obregon III is batting .357 with two home runs, two doubles, a triple, 11 RBIs and 10 runs. Julian Gonzales has two home runs and has driven in 14 and Peyton Johnson has three homers and 16 RBIs.
 
McNeese is expected to start Grant Rogers (2-2, 4.81 ERA), Ty Abraham (2-2, 2.59 ERA) and Chance Stone (2-2, 3.72 ERA). Cameron Foster has six saves with a 0.51 ERA.
 
McNeese leads the all-series, 29-10, and the two teams will meet again in the regular-season finale May 12-14 in Houston.
