COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The HBU softball game on the road against the Texas A&M Aggies that was originally scheduled for 6 p.m. will now be played at 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at Davis Diamond. The schedule change comes after a conflict with tip-off time of the men's NIT tournament game the same night.

The Huskies (10-11) finally take the field again after a 10-day absence for their last midweek game before conference play starts this weekend. Their last action came in the Lady Bison Classic where they faced the likes of Lipscomb, Pitt, and Bowling Green.

Shelby Echols is fifth in the nation in hitting and will look to extend her school record 20-game hitting streak. Caitlyn Brockway is leading the Huskies with three homers while Sarah Venker is hitting .283. As a team the Huskies are hitting .272 and slugging .375.

Lyndie Swanson (4-1) leads the Huskies in the circle with a 2.69 ERA in eight appearances including six starts. She has 32 strikeouts and has allowed just 34 hits over 41.2 innings of work. Venker (1-4) has a 3.57 ERA over 47 innings of work and has struck out 37.

The Texas A&M Aggies (17-10, 1-5 SEC) are coming off of a three game series against SEC foe and fifth ranked Florida Gators. Haley Lee is the offensive powerhouse for the Aggies having slugged six home runs while hitting .500 including 36 hits on the season. As a team the Aggies aren't shy of the long ball, having combined for 30 already this season.

Makinzy Herzog (5-1) has the third lowest ERA in the nation for TAMU. Through 38.2 innings her ERA is just 0.18, having given up just one earned run and 19 hits.

The Huskies return to action on Friday afternoon when they officially open up Southland Conference play against the Northwestern State Lady Demons at Husky Field.
