RUSTON, La. – In what was a great pitching duel through four scoreless innings, turned sideways quickly as Louisiana Tech scored seven in the fifth and 12 in the seventh en route to a 22-2 victory over HBU in the non-conference baseball series opener Friday afternoon at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park.

Parker Edwards hit a solo home run to extend his hitting streak to six games and junior
Caleb Munton doubled and drove in a run for the Huskies (6-9), who had their four-game winning streak snapped.
Junior righthander
Daxton Tinker (0-3) took the loss, allowing three runs on five hits with four strikeouts and a walk in 4.1 innings. He was followed by eight more pitchers used by HBU.
Taylor Young went 3-for-4 with a home run, a triple, five RBIs and four runs, while Steele Netterville went 4-for-5 with a home run, a double, four RBIs and three runs for the Bulldogs (9-5). Logan McLeod was 4-for-6 with a double, three RBIs and three runs and Cole McConnell was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and scored twice. Adarius Myers hit a grand slam, walked and scored twice.
Jonathan Fincher (4-0) held the Huskies scoreless on one hit with five strikeouts and no walks in six innings.
The series continues with a 2 p.m. start Saturday, followed by a 1 p.m. first pitch Sunday.
