NASHVILLE, Tennessee – The HBU softball team heads to the birthplace of country music to take part in the Lipscomb University Tournament this weekend at Draper Diamond.
 
Due to cold weather in the Nashville area this weekend there have been some schedule changes from the original one posted. HBU will now play two games on Friday and Sunday with an off day on Saturday in-between.
 
HBU (9-8) is coming off of hosting a tournament of their own which saw them face the likes of Prairie View A&M and Brown University. HBU finished the weekend 3-2 with both of their losses coming to the Brown Bears.   
 
Shelby Echols continued her unbelievable start to the season having gotten a hit in all 17 of the Huskies games to open the season. She is currently fourth in the nation in hitting with a .536 average and has a team high 30 hits and 10 RBI's. Lyndie Swanson threw her second consecutive complete game shutout and lowered her season ERA to 2.69 which is the fifth lowest in the Southland Conference. She has a 4-1 record in eight appearance – six starts.
 
The Huskies are scheduled to play at 11:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. against Pittsburgh (9-7) and Lipscomb (7-12) respectively before getting the day off on Saturday. They play again Sunday afternoon against Bowling Green (9-4) and Lipscomb at 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. respectively.
 
HBU will travel to Texas A&M for their final pre-conference tune up before returning to Husky Field and hosting Southland foe Northwestern State in the first Southland Conference series of the 2022 season beginning at 4:00 p.m. March 25^th.
