Stats Peform FCS All-America Teams

HOUSTON – HCU sophomore linebacker Rodney Dansby has been named to the Stats Perform FCS All-America Third Team the organization announced Tuesday. Houston Christian University (HCU), formerly Houston Baptist University (HBU), underwent a name change in September 2022.
 
Dansby had previously been announced as a Sophomore All-American by HERO Sports. The Houston Bellaire High School Product was an All-Southland Conference First Team selection and a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award, which is presented by Stats Perform to the FCS Defensive Player of the Year. Dansby led the nation during the regular season with 11.5 tackles per game and led the Southland Conference in stops for the second-straight year. He recorded 127 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, an interception, five quarterback hurries and recovered two fumbles. He posted double-digit tackles nine times, including a season-high 18 against Nicholls.
 
In a win over Lamar, Dansby had 11 tackles and returned a fumble 18 yards for a touchdown for the game's opening score to earn Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors. He had 15 tackles and returned an interception 11 yards against McNeese.
