WESTLAKE, Ohio – HBU senior linebacker Brennan Young has been voted to the Football Championship Subdivision Athletic Directors Association Academic All-Star Team for the second-straight year, the organization announced Thursday.
 
Young ranked third in the Southland Conference and 14^th nationally with 9.9 tackles per game. The Spring, Texas, native totaled 99 stops including 9.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, three quarterback hurries, an interception, a forced fumble and a blocked kick. He recorded double-digit tackles in six games, including a season-high 14 against McNeese. Young registered 11 tackles, two sacks, blocked a field goal and had a quarterback hurry against Northwestern State. He had six tackles, returned an interception 19 yards to set up a touchdown and forced a fumble at Nicholls.
 
Nominees for the ward are required to have a 3.20 GPA on a 4.0 scale in undergraduate study and have been a starter or key player with legitimate athletic credentials. Young carries a 3.70 GPA as a marketing major.
 
HBU has had a selection to the team for three-straight seasons, beginning with Andre Walker in 2019 and Young for the last two.
