COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Senior
Kaitlin Smith competed in a pair of events at the NCAA West Preliminaries on Thursday at Texas A&M's E.B. Cushing Stadium, taking part in the long jump and improving upon her own school record in the 100 meter hurdles.
Smith, running in the sixth and final heat of the 100h, ran a PR with legal winds of 13.57 to improve upon her own program record and place sixth in her heat, 39
th overall. Earlier in the day, in the long jump, the Huskies' senior placed 41
st with a top mark of 5.82m/19-1.25 on her third and final jump of the competition.
Smith has already qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the heptathlon with the women's mutli-events scheduled to take place June 11-12.
