FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Denim Rogers became HBU's first track & field student-athlete to attain All-American status in both outdoor and indoor on Friday afternoon with a First Team All-American performance in the heptathlon at the 2021 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.

The HBU senior totaled 5,653 points to better his own school record by nearly 100 points and place eighth overall. He began the day with a new program record in the 60 meter hurdles, improving on his own record time by one-hundredth of a second with a time of 7.97 for 989 points and the second-fastest time of the day. He then cleared 4.56m/14-11.50 in the pole vault to add 778 points to his total and secured his top-8 finish with a PR mark of 2:47.76 in the 1,000 meters for 789 points.

Rogers moved up five spots from his position at the end of day one when he was in 13th place among the 16 competitors to become HBU's second-ever indoor All-American after junior Christopher Welch garnered the honor last year. Welch will be competing tomorrow, Mar. 13, in the triple jump at 1:00 p.m.
