FB: HBU Falls to McNeese

Freshman LB Rodney Dansby leads Huskies with 15 tackles

HOUSTON – McNeese took advantage of five HBU turnovers, scoring two defensive touchdowns, in a 44-3 victory over the Huskies Saturday afternoon at Husky Stadium.
 
Freshman quarterback Orion Olivas completed 19-of-38 passes for 175 and three interceptions for HBU (0-10, 0-7 SLC). Sophomore Branden Walker made four catches for 41 yards and sophomore Ismael Fuller made two grabs for 40 yards.
 
Freshman linebacker Rodney Dansby made 15 tackles for the Huskies, topping the century mark with 113 total tackles in his rookie season. Senior linebacker Brennan Young recorded 14 tackles and sophomore safety Isaiah Cash added 10.
 
Cody Orgeron completed 19-of-37 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing nine times for 52 yards and a score for McNeese (4-6, 3-4). Deonta McMahon rushed 23 times for 124 yards and a touchdown. Cee Jay Powell caught four passes for 81 yards and a touchdown, while Walker Wood caugh two passes for 29 yards and a touchdown.
 
Alijah Hamilton made five tackles and Isaiah Chamber had four tackles, two sacks and forced two fumbles, one of which was recovered by the Cowboys and returned for a touchdown. Grayson Mays returned an interception 46 yards for a touchdown, while Jarrius Wallace and Quad Wilson each had an interception.
 
McNeese totaled 505 yards, including 293 rushing yards, while HBU had 184 total yards and on nine on the ground. The Cowboys had the ball for 40:16 to the Huskies' 19:44. HBU was penalized seven times for 72 yards, while McNeese had two penalties for 30 yards.
 
The Huskies return to action when they host UIW in the season finale Saturday, Nov. 20 at 2:05 p.m. at Husky Stadium.
