 HUNTSVILLE, Texas – The HBU Huskies dropped Saturday afternoon's matchup against the Sam Houston State Bearkats 75-60 in Southland Conference basketball in Huntsville, Texas.
 
The Huskies (6-19, 2-14 SLC) had three players score in double figures Saturday afternoon. Freshman guard 
Timia Jefferson recorded a team high 13 points and recorded two rebounds, stealing once, and earning two assists. Sophomore forward 
Marilyn Nzoiwu recorded her second double-double of the year gathering 10 rebounds with three blocks while scoring 11 points. Freshmen center 
Abbey Sutherland scored 11 points while gathering six rebounds blocking the ball twice and stole the ball for a season-high five times.
 
The Bearkats (19-7, 14-3 SLC) now sit atop of the conference after having Faith Cook and Courtney Cleveland who both finished with a career-high in points. Cook scored 26 points shooting 10-19 from the floor and 5-10 behind the arc while also recording one rebound with three assists and one steal. Cleveland had a career night scoring 20 points while recording nine rebounds and stealing the ball twice.
The Huskies return to Sharp after a midweek matchup hosted by the Nicholls Colonel in Thibodaux, Louisiana Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. in the David R. Stopher Gymnasium.
