The Huskies (5-14, 1-9 SLC) controlled the boards 34-31 holding an advantage over the Islanders. Junior guard
Megan Valdez-Crader scored 17 points with three steals and three assists. Senior forward
Taylor Kollmorgen recorded 11 points with five rebounds. Freshman guard
Timia Jefferson gathered seven points with six rebounds, one assist and three steals.
Marilyn Nzoiwu recorded five rebounds with three steals.
The Islanders (15-6, 9-2 SLC) had three players score in double figures. Alexes Bryant and Dalesia Booth both recorded 16 points with five rebounds and one steal. The Islanders shot 53.1 percent from the field which helped extend their winning streak to six-straight.
The Huskies head to Crescent City to faceoff with the New Orleans Privateers Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. in the UNO Lakefront Arena.
