NEW ORLEANS– Louisiana – The HBU Huskies fall just short in Wednesday evening's matchup to the UNO Privateers 88-84 in Southland Conference basketball.
 
The Huskies (5-15,1-10 SLC) scored a season high in points which had four players score in double figures in Wednesday evening's matchup. The Huskies held an advantage over the Privateers shooting 47.8 percent from the field while the Privateers shot 38.8 percent. HBU scored more than half their points off a season high in assists with 21 on the evening. Freshman forward N'Denasija scored a career-high 20 points and held a field goal percentage of 56.3 percent from the field while also gathering eight rebounds two assists and one steal. Senior forward 
Taylor Kollmorgen was well rounded in her first double-double of the season, scoring 11 points with 11 rebounds, four assists, three blocks, and three steals. Junior guard 
Megan Valdez-Crader scored 14 points with three rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block. Freshman 
Timia Jefferson recorded 15 points on seven rebounds with three assists and two steals. Sophomore 
Marilyn Nzoiwu gathered 8 rebounds while scoring nine points.
 
The Privateers (12-9, 8-4 SLC) also had four players reach double figures. Rehema Franklin led the team in points with 26 points with three rebounds and one steal while Asia Woods recorded a double double scoring 19 points with 13 rebounds and two blocks. Whitley Larry scored only two points but recorded 13 rebounds as well four steals with five assists.
 
The Huskies return home Saturday to host the Northwestern State Lady Demons at 2 p.m. in Sharp Gym. The game will be broadcast on the Husky Sports Network with live play-by-play by Lonnie King at HBUHuskies.com
