NATCHITOCHES, LOUSIANA- HBU Women's Basketball fell late to the Lady Demons of Northwestern State by a final score of 60-69.
HBU (4-9, 0-4 SLC) got an early lead scoring 17 first quarter points. The Lady Demons would return fire in the second and take a one point lead into the half. The third quarter saw both teams scoring at ease, but HBU would have a two point lead heading into the 4th quarter. Northwestern State would outscore the Huskies 19-8 in the 4th to take the game 60-69. HBU was led by
Megan Valdez-Crader who put up 23 points on 7-13 shooting while adding four steals and two rebounds.
Timia Jefferson added 13 points and three rebounds with
Lauren Calver and
Taylor Kollmorgen each grabbing six rebounds.
Northwestern State (4-9, 1-3 SLC) was led by Kira Bonner who score 32 points including going 4-6 from three-point range. Lacee Savage added an even six points and six rebounds with Jocelyn Scott grabbing a team high seven rebounds. Gabby Bell added seven points of her own.
HBU will next travel to Beaumont, Texas to face off with Lamar Jan. 11th at 2:00 P.M.
