LAKE CHARLES, Louisiana – The HBU Huskies (4-13 0-8 SLC) lost 88-72 to the McNeese Cowgirls in Saturday's Southland Conference basketball.

The Huskies had four players score in double figures in today's matchup. Senior guard Shannon Jones led the team in scoring with 18 points, and three rebounds averaging 12.5 points in her last four appearances. Freshman guard Timia Jefferson recorded 15 points with four rebounds, two assists and one steal while senior forward Taylor Kollmorgen scored a season-high 11 points and four rebounds. Freshman forward N'Denasija Collins tallied six points with six rebounds, three assists and one steal.

The Cowgirls (5-13, 2-7 SLC) also had four players score in double figures. Regan Bolton recorded a game-high 22 points with five assists and shot 6-8 from behind the arc. Damilola Balogun controlled the boards in the game with 16 rebounds and scored 17 points alongside three assists and two steals. Shaela Gardner also scored 17 points with five rebounds and one steal.

The Huskies return on the road to face Incarnate Word in San Antonio this Wednesday at 6:30 pm.
