BUFFALO, N.Y. – The HBU women's soccer team was unable to get on the board as the Huskies dropped a 3-0 decision to Buffalo on Friday evening at UB Stadium.
The Bulls (1-2-0) got the scoring started in 32
nd minute and took a 1-0 lead over the Huskies (1-3-0) into the half. Buffalo then added its two insurance goals within the first 13 minutes of the second half.
HBU was unable to mount much of an offensive attack against the Buffalo defense, not registering a shot attempt and earning one corner kick. The Bulls finished the game with seven shots on goal of their 16 shots attempted. HBU goalkeeper
Ashtyn Franks finished the game with three saves.
"We, unfortunately, couldn't put things together tonight," said head coach
Misty Jones. "It's great to play out of region teams and see different styles of play. Buffalo did a good job tonight of finishing their opportunities. The important thing for us is that we learn from this game and come out firing on Sunday."
The Huskies play at Niagara on Sunday, Sept. 8, afternoon with kickoff slated for noon CDT at Niagara Field.
