HOUSTON- HBU Softball collects 12 hits including 3 homeruns in 12-0 run rule over Incarnate Word this afternoon.
HBU (19-20, 7-14) hits six of their 12 hits for extra bases led by freshman slugger
Caitlyn Brockway. Brockway went 2-4 with three RBI's and two runs scored including a no doubt homerun to left field. Senior shortstop
Demi Janak added to the scoring with a 2-3 day with a double and homerun. Janak drove in two runs and scored twice herself. Junior
Riley Bullen followed her up with a 2-3 day with a double, two RBI's, and two runs scored.
Autumn Sydlik drove in 4 runs for HBU with three coming off her 4th inning blast to center. Senior
Brooke Bushman added a perfect 1-1 with a walk.
Emma Guindon (9-6) spun another shutout for the Huskies as she went the distance pitching all 5 innings giving up two hits, with one walk, and striking out 7.
Incarnate Word (4-36, 2-19) was held to two hits in the game with Hope Sobolewski going 1-2 with a double, and Nina Flores going 1-1 in a pinch hitting spot. Monica Flores also reached on a walk.
Renee Hoffman (1-16) got the loss in the circle for the Cardinals giving up five runs, three earned on six hits and two walks.
HBU will hit the road for a midweek matchup against Lamar in a non-conference tilt Tuesday April 23rd at 5:00 P.M.
