CONWAY, ARKANSAS- HBU Softball dropped both games of their double-header today by scores of 3-0 and 5-4. with game three set for a 1:00 P.M. 1st pitch.
Game One: The Huskies were held to one hit in the game as Central Arkansas' Rio Sanchez struck out seven across 7 innings.
Sierra Humphrey went 1-3 with a single.
Riley Bullen and
Emma Guindon both reached base on walks.
Jessica Patak (4-9) took the loss for Huskies in the circle pitching 3 innings giving up three runs, on three hits, and three walks.
Game Two: The Huskies out hit the Sugar Bears 10-9, but fell just short of coming back in the seventh inning. HBU was led by senior 1st basemen
Brooke Bushman who went 3-4 with two doubles and a RBI. She was followed up by center fielder
Riley Bullen who went 2-3 with a RBI and two runs scored, and reached on a walk.
Megan Hiers added a pinch hit RBI single.
Emma Guindon (10-7) got the loss for HBU in the circle giving up 5 runs on 8 hits, and two walks in 5 innings pitched. Elliot Estes pitched the final frame giving up one hit and striking out one.
Kaylyn Shepherd led Central Arkansas with a 2-3 performance including a homerun with 3 RBI's and a run scored. Erin Blackburn followed her up with a 2-3 game with a RBI.
Rachel Haberman (5-4) got the win in the circle for Central Arkansas pitching one inning giving up 1 hit. Rio Sanchez got her first save of the season pitching 2 innings giving up one run on four hits.
