SB: Huskies Fall in Series Finale to UCA
CONWAY, ARKANSAS- HBU Softball fell to Central Arkansas this afternoon by a score of 7-2 in game three of the Southland Conference Series.
HBU (20-23, 7-17) was led by senior shortstop
Demi Janak as she went 2-3 on the day with a homerun. Junior catcher
Heidi Jaquez followed her up with a solo shot of her own as those were the only two RBI's for the Huskies in game three. Senior 1st basemen
Brooke Bushman added a 1-3 performance as the only other Husky hit.
Elliott Estes (6-7) got the loss in the circle for the Huskies as she gave up 5 runs on six hits in 2.1 innings pitched.
Emma Guindon followed with 2.2 innings giving up three hits, and
Jessica Patak threw the final frame giving up 2 runs on one hit.
Central Arkansas (25-25, 11-13) racked up 10 total hits on the day with Crutchmer, Morris, Blackburn, and Felts all collecting two. Blackburn and Felts each had doubles while Morris and Felts each drove in a pair of runs.
Elli Reaves (2-3) got the win in the circle for the Sugar Bears giving up two runs on two hits in 4 innings of work before giving way to Haberman for the 3 inning save only allowing two hits.
HBU's game next Wednesday against Prairie View A&M has been cancelled, so the Huskies will next return to action for Senior Weekend against Abilene Christian next Friday and Saturday May 3rd and 4th.
