THIBODAUX- HBU Softball falls to the Nicholls Colonels in the final game of the series by a score of 8-1. HBU recorded three total hits in the game. 

HBU (15-20, 4-13) was held to one run in the game that came off the bat of catcher Heidi Jaquez as she lifted one out for a solo homerun in the top of the sixth inning. Demi Janak and Sierra Humphrey collected the other two Huskies hits in the game with both being singles. Riley Bullen also reached base twice with two HBP's. 

All three HBU pitchers saw action in the game as Elliott Estes (5-6) got the loss in the circle going 1.1 innings giving up four runs on seven hits. Jessica Patak followed her up with 3.1 innings giving up two runs, one earned on one hit and two walks. Emma Guindon closed out the games final 1.1 innings giving up two runs on five hits, a walk, and a strikeout. 

Nicholls (26-16, 15-3) bashed out 13 hits in the game as four Colonels players had multi hit games. Kasey Frederick led the way driving in a pair and scoring once on a 2-3 day. Caitlin Garcia followed her with a 2-3 performance also driving in two runs. Samantha Dares reached base safely three times as she went 2-3 with a walk, a run scored and a RBI. 

Megan Landry (20-8) went the distance for Nicholls giving up one run on three hits and striking out seven. 

HBU returns to action this Tuesday facing Prairie View A&M in a midweek game at 2 P.M.
