HOUSTON- HBU Softball battle to victory against Prairie View A&M by a score of 3-2.
HBU (16-20) hit four extra base hits to push them past PVAMU.
Caitlyn Brockway added to her team high 10 homeruns with a shot in the third.
Heidi Jaquez got the scoring going just before that with a solo shot of her own. Jaquez finished going 2-3 at the plate.
Riley Bullen went 2-3 on the day with a triple and a double. Bullen later came around to score the go ahead run on
Sierra Humphrey's eighth inning single.
Emma Guindon (7-6) went the distance in the circle for HBU pitching 8 innings giving up two runs, on nine hits, with six strikeouts.
PVAMU (21-12) was led by Shelby and Destinee Williams who each went 2-4 with a run scored. Larissa Hernandez drove in both of the Panthers' runs with a two run double.
Vannesa Castro (7-3) took the hard luck loss for the Panthers going 8 innings giving up three runs, on seven hits, with two strikeouts.
HBU returns home this Thursday to face off in a three game series against Incarnate Word. Thursday will be a double-header with game one starting at 5:00 P.M. with game two following approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. Game three will be Friday at Noon.
