NATCHITOCHES, La.- The Huskies split their two games Sunday as they beat UAPB in game one 4-0 and dropped game two to Northwestern State 9-3. 

Game One- HBU scored all four runs in the first inning on their way to a shutout victory. Heidi Jaquez started it off with a single up the middle followed up by Autumn Sydlik reaching on an error by the catcher on a sac bunt. Caitlyn Brockway reached on a fielder's choice before Demi Janak drove in a run on a fielder's choice. Sierra Humphrey knocked in another run with a single to right field followed by a two RBI double by freshman Emma Guindon to finish up the scoring for HBU.

Elliot Estes (2-1) got the win in the circle pitching a shutout only surrendering one hit on the day with two strike outs. 

UAPB had one hit on the day by Shanice Akin who also stole a bag on the day. Juliana Domi (0-6) got the loss for the Golden Lions giving up three earned runs on six hits in six innings pitched.

Game Two- HBU had four hits in the game including a double by junior Amber Lotz and a solo homerun by Caitlyn Brockway the first of her Husky career. 

Jessica Patak (1-4) got the loss in the circle going three and a third innings giving up seven earned runs on five hits and four walks. Emma Guindon finished the game giving up two earned runs on four hits and two walks in two and two thirds innings pitched with three strikeouts. 

HBU returns to action this Wednesday Feb.27 at the University of Texas at 6:00p.m. before heading to Alabama to compete in the Samford Tournament.
