WICHITA, Kan. - HBU fell to Wichita State in non-conference women's basketball Monday in Koch Arena, 59-42.
HBU (3-3) was led by freshman guard
Kennedy Wilson, who put up a team high 12 points to go with four rebounds. Junior guard
Megan Valdez-Crader followed with nine points, four rebounds and three assists. Freshman forward Asta Grimsdottir led the Huskies with eight rebounds and four blocks. The Huskies had another strong fourth quarter, outscoring the Shockers, 19-7, on 39 percent shooting, including 40 percent from three-point range.Â
Wichita State (3-2) was led by DJ McCarty, who scored 12 points with three rebounds and three assists. Shyia Smith put a great effort on the glass, grabbing 17 rebounds to go with 10 points. Raven Price and Maya Brewer each added eight points in the win. The Shockers outrebounded the Huskies, 50-37, and turned the ball over four fewer times.
HBU will return home to face Northern Arizona Dec. 1 at 2 p.m. in Sharp Gym.Â
