TULSA, OK- HBU Women's Basketball defeated Oral Roberts on the road Saturday Afternoon behind a 25 point fourth quarter concluding with the game winning three-pointer from
Julija Vujakovic with six seconds left to give the Huskies the lead.
HBU (3-2) was led by Vujakovic who scored a team high 16 points on 60 percent shooting from deep. The Huskies had three other players score in double-digits with
Timia Jefferson scoring 13 in her return to action.
Megan Valdez-Crader also added 13 points with
Marilyn Nzoiwu rounding them out with 10 points to go with a team high six rebounds.
Kennedy Wilson and
N'Denasija Collins added nine points and eight points respectively. As a team HBU shot 53.4 percent from the field including 41.7 percent from three-point range.The Huskies once again showed their depth as the bench totaled 40 points in the win. The Huskies were down 15 points going into the fourth quarter and would shoot 10-15 from the field to get the victory. The Huskies finished the game on a 23-4 run capped by Vujakovic's game winning three-pointer assisted by Valdez-Crader.
Oral Roberts (3-4) was led by Kini Jo Lippe who scored 27 points going 4-7 from three-point range and a perfect 9-9 from the free-throw line. She was followed up by Montserrat Brotons who posted 16 points on 7-9 shooting from the field and grabbing 11 rebounds. Riley Torrey rounded out the leading scorers with 12 points and five rebounds.
HBU will next travel to Wichita, Kansas to take on the Shockers of Wichita State Monday night at 6:30 P.M.
