ABILENE, Texas – A stretch of three Southland Conference road games that will result in more than 2,000 miles of travel for the HBU men's basketball team concludes this Wednesday when the Huskies visit Moody Coliseum to take on Abilene Christian at 7:00 p.m. Husky fans can catch all the action via the Husky Sports Network broadcast with Lonnie King, available at HBUHuskies.com.

Three games into conference play, HBU (5-9, 1-2 SLC) has played three tightly-contested games with the first two going to overtime and the third coming down to a game-winner in the final seconds. Over those three games, the Huskies have scored a total of 240 points while allowing opponents to also total 240.

In the Huskies' 77-76 loss at Nicholls, senior Edward Hardt had the best offensive games of his career. The HBU center finished 9-of-12 from the floor and 11-of-15 at the charity stripe for 29 points, besting his previous career-high of 18 set earlier this season at Texas State. Hardt is averaging 16.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game in SLC play while knocking down 64 percent (16-of-25) of his shots from the floor.

Braxton Bonds is leading the league with 4.3 steals per game in league play while Ian DuBose's 24 ppg is more than five points higher than anyone else in the conference. The sophomore also leads the Huskies in rebounding (7.3 rpg) and assists (4.3 apg) in Southland games.

Abilene Christian (14-3, 3-1 SLC) opened SLC play with a 10-point win at home over New Orleans and has played a trio of close road games with all three being decided by three points or less. For the season, ACU boasts three players averaging at least 12 ppg with junior Jalone Friday and senior Jaren Lewis both contributing 13.1 ppg while junior Payten Ricks is adding 12.8 ppg.

Ricks is currently second in the nation in three-point field goal percentage, connecting on 46-of-89 (51.7 percent) from behind the arc while the Wildcats are fourth nationally with a 42.1 percent (128-of-304) mark from long-range.

The Huskies are 3-6 all-time against the Wildcats with the last meeting in Abilene coming on Feb. 2, 2016. ACU came out on top in that matchup, 79-72.

HBU returns home on Saturday, Jan. 19, for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off against Sam Houston State inside Sharp Gym.
