HOUSTON – HBU softball fell, 6-1, in game three of the Southland Conference series against Stephen F. Austin Sunday afternoon at Husky Field.
The Huskies (7-26, 4-14 SLC) were led by sophomore second baseman
Amber Lotz, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with a double and a run scored, while junior designated hitter
Alyssa De Los Santos went 2-for-3 an RBI. Junior shortstop
Demi Janak went 2-for-2 with two walks and a double.
Freshman
Jessica Patak (4-15) got the loss in the circle, as she allowed six runs on seven hits, three errors, three walks and four strikeouts in 6.1 innings.
Second baseman Bryana Novegil went 2-for-4 at the plate and scored twice for SFA (24-17, 12-6 SLC). Taylor Fraccastoro hit a two-run home run, walked twice and had two runs scored. Margarita Corona also homered and walked.
Makayla Sikes (15-6) earned the win holding the Huskies to one run on eight hits, one error, two walks and three strikeouts in six innings.
The Huskies travel to San Antonio, Texas for a mid-week game against UTSA Tuesday, April 17 at 6 p.m. They will then return home to host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for their final three-game SLC series at home. Friday, April 20 consists of a double header starting at 1 p.m. The series concludes on Saturday, April 21 at 12 p.m. with the team honoring its five seniors after the game.
