The Huskies are coming off of an (0-2) start in the Cowgirl Classic, as they face Virginia and Tulsa. Junior
Brooke Bushman went 2-for-6 at the plate over the weekend, averaging a .333 batting average. Senior
Libby Brown and sophomore
Megan Hiers are batting .167 (1-for-6). Hiers' hit came from a one-run double against Virginia.
In the circle, freshman
Jessica Patak made her debut for the Huskies, recording only eight hits, three runs, five walks and three strikeouts in 8.1 innings. She leads the team with a 2.16 ERA.
The Huskies took both games last season against Texas Southern with a 6-3 win at Husky Field in February and a 4-3 win at Memorial Park in March.
Up next for HBU is the GCU Purple Classic hosted by Grand Canyon in Phoenix, Arizona. The Huskies will play two games Friday, Feb. 23 and Saturday, Feb. 24 against Niagara and Grand Canyon. Grand Canyon and HBU will then face off again Sunday, Feb. 25.
