HBU (4-13, 0-4 SLC) will aim to win in Huntsville for the second-consecutive season after last year's squad picked up the program's first road win at SHSU (9-8, 2-1 SLC) in 38 years.

Junior guard Braxton Bonds had one of his best games of the season in the Huskies' loss to Abilene Christian on Wednesday, matching his season-high of 19 points while adding seven rebounds and six assists. The HBU point guard leads the team with 81 assists on the season and is fourth on the team in rebounding.

The Huskies, shooting 31.1 percent from three-point range for the season have picked things up from long-distance in conference play, shooting 37.5 percent (30-of-80) over the last four games. Freshman Ian DuBose has been red-hot from distance, knocking down 12-of-18 (66.7 percent) of his threes against SLC foes. DuBose is averaging 17.8 points per game and leads the team with 7.3 boards in SLC play.

Sam Houston State is led by senior forward Chris Galbreath who is 10th in the league in scoring at 14.6 points per game and his 8.2 rebounds per game is third. John Dewey, a junior and a third team all-conference selection last season, leads SHSU with 86 assists in 17 games and is averaging 10.1 ppg. In SLC play, the Bearkats have five different players averaging double-digits in scoring and are out-scoring opponents by more than 11 per game. SHSU is 6-1 on its home floor this season.
