JT Jakubik (0-1, 2.25 ERA) will make his second-straight midweek start for the Huskies (8-10), after shutting out Stephen F. Austin on two hits with three strikeouts in 5.0 innings last week.
Senior centerfielder
Zane Otten is hitting .410 with three doubles, a triple, five RBIs, 10 runs and is 5-for-7 on stolen base attempts for HBU. Junior leftfielder
Spencer Halloran is hitting .343 with four doubles, four triples, two home runs, 15 RBIs and 17 runs, while junior first baseman/catcher
Jake Pulcheon is hitting .315 with four doubles, nine RBIs and 11 runs.
UTSA (9-9) will likely send to the mound righthander Karan Patel (1-1, 5.62 ERA), who will be making his fifth start of the year.
Tony Beam is hitting .429 with four doubles, a triple, two home runs, five RBIs and 10 runs for the Roadrunners, while Kevin Markham is hitting .382 with 11 doubles, three triples, a home run, 13 RBIs and 18 runs. Jesse Baker has a .321 batting average with three doubles, five home runs, 12 RBIs and 18 run, and Bryan Arias is hitting .314 with five doubles, a triple, three home runs, 11 RBIs and 19 runs. Skyler Valentine leads UTSA with 15 RBIs and Trent Bowles has driven in 14.
UTSA leads the all-time series against HBU, 8-4, but did not face each other last season for the first time since 2009. The Roadrunners won both meetings in 2015, while the Huskies won both in 2014.
HBU returns to Southland Conference play with a three-game series against perennial power Southeastern Louisiana Friday through Sunday at Husky Field.
