CONWAY, Arkansas – Central Arkansas righthander Connor Gilmore went the distance and the Bears broke the game open with a seven-run eighth in an 11-0 victory over HBU in the Southland Conference baseball series opener Thursday night at Bear Stadium.
Gilmore (2-3) allowed only four hits with four strikeouts and no walks, while throwing 117 pitches for UCA (10-10, 4-3 SLC).

Addison Russ (3-2) took the loss for HBU (10-12, 2-2), allowing four runs on four hits with five strikeouts, two walks and five hit batters in six innings.
The Huskies had only four singles on offense, one each by junior third baseman

Ty Tice went 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs, while Logan Preston went 2-for-2 with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs for the Bears. Tyler Langley scored twice, William Hancock drove in three and Justin McCarty doubled and drove in a pair.
