HOUSTON – On Friday evening the HBU men's basketball team opens its 52nd season in Sharp Gym when the Huskies host Dallas Christian with a 7:00 p.m. tip-off. Fans can listen to the action live on the Legacy Sports Network audio broadcast with Lonnie King at HBUHuskies.com.
 
The Huskies (0-2), currently led offensively by seniors Colter Lasher and Atif Russell with 13.5 points per game, dropped their last game at New Mexico by a score of 95-79. Lasher led the way in the loss with 19 points on 7-17 shooting, including 5-12 from three-point range, while also dishing out a team-high four assists. Four other Huskies reached double-digits in scoring in the game with freshman Jalen Weber contributing 13. In the second half, HBU connected on 10-15 from beyond the arc en route to out-scoring the Lobos 48-45 in the half.
 
Dallas Christian (0-8), a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association, is coming off a 99-77 loss at Oklahoma City on Wednesday night. Trey Lindsey led the way for the Crusaders with 22 points and seven rebounds. Keldon Williams added 17 points and Dayvon Collins finished with 13. Overall, DCC shot 44.8 percent from the floor and committed just 11 turnovers in the game but were unable to overcome a 53-27 rebounding deficit that led to 32 second chance points for the Stars.
 
Friday's game marks the sixth meeting between the two programs with HBU owning a 5-0 record against the Crusaders. The last contest came during the 2014-15 season with the Huskies prevailing 88-44. Lasher scored 11 points in that game and senior Reveal Chukwujekwu added nine.
 
The Huskies will remain at home for their next game when they host Ecclesia College at Sharp Gym on Tuesday, November 22 at 7:00 p.m. before heading to Milwaukee, Wisc. to face Big East member Marqutte on Saturday, November 26.
