NACOGDOCHES, Texas – HBU's men's and women's squads will compete in the 2016 Southland Conference Cross Country Championships hosted by Stephen F. Austin Friday morning at Pecan Acres City Park.
The women have been led by senior
Stephanie Aguilar, who has been the Huskies' top finisher at all five regular-season meets. She will be joined by senior Kiersten Santana; juniors
Brielle Eskridge,
Katie Haring,
Arielle Price and
Lauren Stockton; and freshmen Miracle Crayton and Sarah Tabor.
On the men's side, HBU will run its top five together for the first time this season. Senior
Juan Fraga has led the Huskies in three meets, while junior
Carlos Arias was the team's top finisher in the other two. They will be joined by seniors
Orlando Garcia and
Jeremy Lewis and juniors
Cody Hammonds,
Daniel Shelton and
Enrique Perez.
The men's 8,000-meter race begins at 8:30 a.m., followed by the women's 6,000-meter race at 9:30. Admission is free to the championships.
