FRISCO, Texas – Five men and five women from the HCU cross country team were named Southland Conference Academic All-Conference on Thursday afternoon in an announcement by the league office.
The HCU women's selections were led by senior
Destiny Quintanilla who posted a 16
th-place finish at the 2025 Southland Conference Championships. She is joined by junior
Jazlynn Estrada, sophomores
Cara Gary and
Noelle Huijser, and freshman
Reyes Carrera.
The honorees from the men's team include senior
Leandre Lahalle and junior
Colby Kurtz, who placed 25
th and 27
th at the SLC Championships this past fall, along with senior
Raphael Aureau, junior
Jaxson Artisst and freshman
Gavin Almaguer.
Student-athletes are required to maintain at least a 3.25 cumulative grade points average and participate in at least half of their team's events to be eligible for SLC Academic All-Conference recognition.
