Team Selection Show Reaction VideoHOUSTON – The HBU baseball team, which captured the 2015 Southland Conference Tournament Championship, has been selected as the No. 4 seed at the NCAA Houston Regional and will face host and No. 1 seed Houston Friday at 7 p.m. at Cougar Field.
"We're excited about being able to stay in Houston for our team and our fans," HBU head coach
Jared Moon said. "We at a great atmosphere at the conference tournament, so hopefully we'll have that same support this weekend. We've played two of the teams (Rice and Houston) this season, so we're familiar with them and played well against them. We just want to continue the run we started at the conference tournament."
The Huskies (28-25) are making their first-ever NCAA Baseball Championship appearance, after winning the Southland Tournament in only their second season in the league. HBU went 4-0 in the tournament, getting four complete game pitching performances from junior lefthander

Rice will be the No. 2 seed in the regional and will face No. 3 seed Louisiana-Lafayette at 2:30 p.m.
HBU has faced two of the three teams in its regional this season. The Huskies upset then-No. 8 Houston (42-18), 2-1, on March 3 at Cougar Field and lost to then-No. 12 Rice (35-20), 5-2, on Feb. 17 at Reckling Park. HBU has not faced Louisiana-Lafayette since 2001.
The other regional sites are Baton Rouge, La.; College Station, Texas; Fort Worth, Texas; Champaign, Ill.; Nashville, Tenn.; Fullerton, Calif.; Louisville, Ky.; Los Angeles; Lake Elsinore, Calif.; Stillwater, Okla.; Springfield, Mo.; Miami; Dallas; Tallahassee, Fla. and Gainesville, Fla.
The NCAA Houston Regional will be broadcast on ESPN3 and the Legacy Sports Network.
