NATCHITOCHES, La. – The HBU women's soccer team look to remain perfect in Southland Conference play when the Huskies face Northwestern State on the road Friday at 7 pm. HBU concludes the weekend hosting Lamar Sunday at 1 pm at Sorrels Field.

HBU leads the all-time series over Northwestern State, 2-1-0, as the Lady Demons won last season's meeting in Houston, 2-1 in overtime. Northwestern State scored two unanswered after Allison Abendschein put the Huskies up 1-0 late in the first half. The Huskies lead the all-time series with Lamar, 2-0-2, and defeated the Lady Cardinals, 1-0 in overtime in Beaumont, as Molly Missimer scored in the 100th minute.

HBU (2-5-1 overall, 1-0-0 SLC) won its first conference opener in two seasons, as the Huskies knocked off Abilene Christian, 1-0 in overtime last Sunday. Rebekah Tovar scored the game winner on a penalty kick, her first goal of the season.
 
Natalie Hager and Kristi O'Brien lead the team with two goals and four points, while Tovar and Ellee Hall have three points on a goal and an assist. Abendschein has taken a team-high 16 shots and eight shots on goal.
 
Patty Walrath has seen most of the action in goal and is 2-4-0 with a 1.29 goals-against average (which is ranked fourth-best in the conference), a .784 save percentage, and two shutouts. She has made 29 saves in 558 minutes.

Northwestern State (3-7-0, 0-2-0 SLC) began conference play with two losses, falling at home to Lamar and losing at Stephen F. Austin.
 
Esdenia Gonzalez is second in the conference with seven goals and third with 15 points. Julia Ranalli and Nikki Saunders each have three assists.
 
Alex Latham has seen most of the action in goal and is 3-5-0 with a 3.01 GAA and a .596 save percentage. She has made 31 saves in 628 minutes. Latham and Brooke Bourbonais have a shared shutout.

Lamar (3-5-0, 1-0-0 SLC) won its conference opener, defeating Northwestern State at home, 4-1, Friday night. The Cardinals play at Stephen F. Austin Friday night before playing HBU.
 
Kimmy Albeno, who was named Southland Offensive Player of the Week, leads the team with five goals and 11 points. Three other Cardinals have four points.
 
The SLC Goalkeeper of the Week, Bailey Fontenot, is 3-5-0 with a 1.78 GAA, a .780 save percentage, and two shutouts. She has made 46 saves in 658 minutes.
