Rebekah Tovar coolly walked to the penalty box and sailed a shot past the keeper, as HBU won its first Southland Conference game of the season, 1-0 in overtime past Abilene Christian.
HBU (2-5-1 overall, 1-0-0 SLC) has now evened the all-time series, 1-1-0, with the home team winning the game by a score of 1-0.
HBU outshot ACU, 20-9, in the match, including 5-1 in the overtime session.
Allison Abendschein had a match-high six shots, with half of them hitting the target.
Connor Ryder had four shots, two on goal.
Patty Walrath earned her second shutout of the season, as she made six saves.
Taylor Brown and Baylee Mitchell each had two shots for ACU (4-6-0 overall, 1-1-0 SLC). Six different Wildcats had a shot on goal. Kelsey Dombrowski earned the tough loss in goal, as she made 10 saves.
HBU outshot the Wildcats, 10-3, in the first half, and Dombrowski was busy early, as she made four saves in the first 15 minutes, three coming in a six-minute span.
Both Walrath and Dombrowski made diving saves to keep the match scoreless.

th minute, Abendschein's shot attempt hit the crossbar.
Early in the first overtime session, there was pandemonium deep in the ACU box, thanks to consistent pressure by the Huskies. A header attempt by Abendschein was blocked and another header attempt, this time by
Kristi O'Brien, was saved by Dombrowski. The officials stopped play and called for a penalty kick attempt due to one of the ACU field players attempting to punch the ball out of harm's way in the box.
HBU continues conference play with a road match at Northwestern State Friday at 7 pm and a home tilt against Lamar Sunday at 1 pm at Sorrels Field.
