SAN MARCOS, Texas – HBU softball hits the road again to play a single game against Texas State Wednesday. First pitch is set for a 6 pm start.

Texas State is 2-0 all-time against the Huskies, with both meetings coming in the 2012 campaign.

HBU went 2-2 in the season-opening Lady Techster Tournament last weekend. The Huskies defeated Jackson State and host Louisiana Tech and lost to Saint Louis and UT Martin.

Kendall Stiefel pitched just the fifth perfect game in program history in the Huskies' 8-0 win over LA Tech, and the first no-hitter since 2008. She struck out six in the process. Shay Orsak hit .571 in the tournament with eight hits, three doubles, one home run, and five RBI. Both players earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

Lauren Schwirtlich is hitting .500, with seven hits and seven runs scored. As a team, the Huskies are hitting .325.

Emily Mueller leads the pitching staff with a 1.40 ERA, as she allowed three hits and one run while striking out six against JSU. The pitching staff has a combined 2.70 ERA.

Texas State went 3-1 in its own CenturyLink Classic, defeating Stephen F. Austin, Southern Illinois, and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The Bobcats lost, 7-2, to Ball State.

Kendall Wiley leads the team with a .667 batting average, with a double, a homer, five RBI, and four runs scored. Kelli Baker and Jordan Masek are each hitting .500. Baker leads the Bobcats with seven hits and five runs scored. As a team, the Bobcats are hitting .337.

Ryan House leads the pitchers with a 1.27 ERA, as she has struck out 13 and walked just three in 11.0 innings. The pitching staff has a combined 2.92 ERA.

After the game at Texas State, the Huskies conclude their road trip at the Mardi Gras Classic, hosted by ULM, Feb. 14-16. HBU's home opener will be Tuesday, Feb. 18 against Texas Southern at 3 pm.
