The third-seeded Huskies take on sixth-seed Southeastern Louisiana 4:30 pm from the LU Soccer Complex.
HBU's (8-6-4 overall, 7-1-3 SLC) seven-match unbeaten streak (6-0-1) is a new program record. The previous mark was six, set in 2012 (9/21-10/13, 5-0-1). The Huskies tied Sam Houston State, 0-0, on the road last Friday, and concluded the regular season defeating Southeastern Louisiana, 2-1, Sunday afternoon.
The Huskies are led by Second Team All-Conference selection
Natalie Hager with seven goals and 14 points. Fellow Second Team recipient,
Kristi O'Brien, is second with four goals and tied with
Rebekah Tovar with nine points.
Second Team All-Conference selection,
Patty Walrath, is 8-5-3 in goal with a 0.91 goals-against average (3rd in SLC), a .844 save percentage (3rd in SLC), and five complete-game shutouts (one shared). She is second in SLC with a 0.62 GAA and .892 save percentage in conference play.
No. 6 Southeastern Louisiana (12-7-0 overall, 5-6-0 SLC) lost both matches last weekend, at home to Nicholls (4-2) and at HBU (2-1). Bri Singh leads the conference with 13 goals and 29 points. Maggie Ramsey has 22 points on seven goals and eight assists. Both Lady Lion goalkeepers have seen action. Hope Sabadash is 8-2-0 with a 0.69 GAA, a .870 save percentage, and five shutouts. Casey Jeanfreau is 3-5-0 with a 1.70 GAA, a .732 save percentage, and one shutout.
No. 2 Sam Houston State (9-8-1, 8-2-1) gets the winner of HBU-SELA. The Bearkats tied the Huskies 0-0 Friday night and defeated Nicholls at home, 2-0, Sunday. Allie Johnson leads the team with eight goals and 19 points. Seven of those goals have come in conference play. Kylie Hambleton is 8-7-1 with a 1.42 GAA, a .726 save percentage, and five shutouts.
No. 4 McNeese State (8-9-1, 6-5-0) defeated Central Arkansas, 4-3, last weekend to conclude the regular season. Savannah LaRicci leads the Cowgirls with six goals and 15 points. She and Tori Lasiter each have three assists. Lauren Sestak and Maggie Marks have split time in goal. Sestak is 5-3-0 with a 1.09 GAA, a .775 save percentage, and three shutouts. Marks is 3-5-1, with a 1.49 GAA, a .683 save percentage, and three shutouts.
No. 5 Nicholls (9-9-0, 5-6-0) split last weekend, doubling up Southeastern Louisiana, 4-2, and losing at Sam Houston State, 2-0. Spencer Valdespino scored all four goals against SELA and leads the team with nine goals and 19 points. She and Jess Coates each have three game-winning goals. Coates has 17 points with five goals and a team-best seven helpers. Taylor Mosley is 5-8-0 in goal with a 1.82 GAA, a .737 save percentage, and three shutouts.
Top-seed Stephen F. Austin (15-2-1, 11-0-0) plays the winner of McNeese State-Nicholls. The Ladyjacks are on a 13-game winning streak, with the latest wins coming last weekend against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Incarnate Word, both by 1-0 scores. Zuri Prince leads the team with 24 points, as she and Chelsea Raymond each have nine goals. Raymond has 23 points. Morgan Glick is 13-2-1 in goal with a 0.51 GAA, a .889 save percentage, and eight shutouts (three shared).
