On Wednesday, Dolan and Guzman were named to the 20-member watch list for the Jerry Rice Award, which honors the most outstanding freshman in the Football Champoinship Subdivision (FCS). The pair are two of the three Southland Conference representatives on the list.
Central Arkansas (3-3, 2-0) is led by quarterback Taylor Reed, the nephew of HBU head men's basketball coach
Ron Cottrell, who has completed 63-of-98 passes for 677 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions, while adding 146 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns. Dezmin Lewis is the Bears' top receiver with 31 catches for 476 yards and four touchdowns, while Desmond Smith has 27 catches for 344 yards and five scores. Willie Matthews leads UCA with 364 rushing yards and six touchdowns.
George Odum is the UCA's leading tackler with 39, one of seven Bears with 30 or more stops. Jonathan Woodard had 33 tackles and 6.0 sacks, while Bobby Watkins has 37 tackles and two of the Bears' six interceptions.
Last week, HBU fell on the road to UIW, 31-8, in San Antonio, while UCA pulled out a 49-39 victory over Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, Texas.
The Huskies return home for two-straight games, beginning with SFA Saturday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m., followed by the Homecoming matchup against Nicholls Saturday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. at Husky Stadium.
