Men's Hoops Looks to Get On Track at UCA

Huskies wrap up four-game road swing with Southland Conference matchup.

CONWAY, Ark. - HBU seeks to snap a five-game losing streak on the second leg of the Southland Conference-opening road trip against Central Arkansas Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at the Farris Center. The Huskies (3-10, 0-1 SLC) are led by sophomore guard Rob Lewis, who averages 12.2 points per game off the bench, and junior guard Tyler Russell, who adds 11.4 points per game. Sophomore forward Cody Joyce has scored in double figures in four-straight games and is averaging 10.1 points per game. Junior center Ricmonds Vilde leads HBU on the boards with 5.8 rebounds per game, and junior guard Marcel Smith paces the offense with a team-leading 34 assists.
 
Central Arkansas (3-9, 0-1) is led by LaQuentin Miles, who is averaging 22.3 points per game since returning to the Bears' lineup in the last four games. DeShone McClure averages 14.2 and Jalen Jackson averages 14.0 points per game. Miles leads the Bears with 7.8 rebounds per game.
 
HBU dropped an 88-58 decision to Oral Roberts Thursday night in Tulsa, Okla. Joyce and Russell had 10 points each for the Huskies. Central Arkansas fell, 81-66, to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at home Thursday. Jackson led the Bears with 21 points and nine rebounds, and Miles chipped in 19 points.
 
Saturday's game is the first-ever meeting between HBU and Central Arkansas, and the Bears will visit Houston later in the season on Feb. 15.
 
The Huskies will return home after four-straight on the road. They will host Stephen F. Austin Thursday, Jan. 9, then Northwestern State Saturday, Jan. 11, in league action.
