MISSOULA, Mont. – For the fourth consecutive match, the HBU women's soccer team found themselves on the wrong end of a one-goal match, this time a 1-0 loss at the hands of Montana Thursday evening on the opening night of the Montana Cup at South Campus Stadium.

HBU was outshot, 18-14, and was doubled up in shots on goal, 8-4. The Griz edged the Huskies in corner kicks, 4-3.

Neither team scored in the opening half. HBU goalkeeper Stephanie Castellon made five saves in the half, three of which coming in a span of two-and-a-half minutes. The Griz outshot the Huskies, 9-6, and 5-2 in shots on goal.

The lone goal came in the 51st minute. The Griz were awarded a corner kick in the 47th minute, after a shot was deflected. Four minutes later, Montana scored, as Tyler Adair headed the ball from seven yards out, assisted by Mackenzie Akins.

With the momentum clearly on Montana's side, the Huskies weathered the storm, as India Watne's shot was blocked five minutes after the goal, resulting in another corner kick. The Huskies cleared the ball away unscathed.

The Huskies had a chance to tie the match late, but Montana goalkeeper Kendra McMillen stopped Rebekah Tovar's shot in the 80th minute and Allison Abendschein's shot in the 85th minute went wide right.

Castellon fell to 0-2-0 as she tied a season high with seven saves. McMillen improved to 1-2-2.

HBU (0-4-0) will conclude the Montana Cup against Utah Valley on Saturday at 6 pm central.
