MISSOULA, Mont. – The HBU women's soccer team left before the sun came up Wednesday morning for Montana, as the Huskies will compete at the Montana Cup, hosted by the University of Montana. The Huskies will play the host Griz on Thursday and Utah Valley on Saturday, with both matches starting at 6 pm central.

The match-up against Montana will mark the first-ever meeting, while the Huskies and the UVU Wolverines are old hat. The former Great West Conference rivals will meet for the tenth time, with Utah Valley leading the all-time series, 6-2-1.

HBU may be 0-3-0 on the young season, but the Huskies' record is deceiving, as they lost their third consecutive one-goal match, this time a 2-1 overtime setback to visiting TCU Sunday night at Sorrels Field in the Huskies' home opener. Rebekah Tovar has both Husky goals this season and leads the team with seven shots and four shots on goal. Molly Missimer and Kelsey Missimer both have five shot attempts, while K. Missimer and Natalie Hager each have three shots on goal.

The Huskies have used a trio of goalkeepers thus far, with Stephanie Castellon getting the most of the action, with 136 minutes played. Patty Walrath leads the trio with a 1.00 goals-against average, with Castellon next with a 1.97 mark, and Shelby Horn third with a 2.00 GAA. Walrath leads the trio with a .857 save percentage.

Montana (0-2-2) went 0-0-2 in its first Montana Cup held Aug. 23-25, then lost, 2-1, at Loyola Marymount on Aug. 31 and 2-0 at Cal State Fullerton on Sept. 2.

Ashley Robertson lead the Griz with four points on two goals, while Mary Makris has two assists. India Watne has taken a team-high seven shot attempts.

Kendra McMillen has played every minute in goal and has a 1.12 GAA and a .783 save percentage.

Utah Valley (1-3-0) snapped a three-match losing streak with a 4-2 win at Idaho State on Sept. 3. The Wolverines had lost at UTEP, at Utah State, and to Weber State to start the season.

Haley Curtis and Taylor Kirk lead UVU with two goals and four points, while Natalie Baker has a goal and an assist for three points. Haley Curtis has taken a team-high 11 shot attempts with eight of those hitting the target.

Lauren Sack has seen every minute between the pipes and has a 1.93 GAA and a .742 save percentage.
