Safety Taylor Thompson Named CFPA National Defensive Back of the Week

Freshman had two interceptions, including a pick six, and a fumble recovery in win.

Taylor Thompson was named CFPA National Defensive Back of the Week Monday.
DAVIDSON, N.C. – HBU freshman safety Taylor Thompson was named College Football Performance Award's FCS National Defensive Back of the Week, the organization announced Monday.
 
Thompson, a Bellville product, had two interceptions, returning the first one 46 yards for a touchdown, and also added a fumble recovery and a pair of tackles in the Huskies' 49-7 victory over Texas College Saturday. For the season, he leads the Huskies with four interceptions and ranks fourth with 35 tackles.

The Huskies conclude their inaugural season with a Homecoming matchup against Texas A&M-Commerce Saturday at 3 p.m. at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory's Crusader Stadium.
