Men's Hoops Heads to Mobile for 3 Games in HOF Classic

Huskies face Wright State Friday, Southern Miss Saturday and South Alabama Sunday.

MOBILE, Ala. -- HBU wraps up the 2013 CBE Hall of Fame Classic with three games at the Mitchell Center. The Huskies face Wright State Friday at 4 p.m., Southern Miss Saturday at 3 p.m. and host South Alabama Sunday at 2 p.m.
 
The Huskies (1-2) are led by junior guard Tyler Russell and sophomore guard Rob Lewis, who each average 14.0 points per game. Sophomore center Cody Joyce has scored in double figures in all three games and is posting 11.3 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.
 
Wright State (2-2) is led by JT Yoho, who averages 11.8 points per game and AJ Pacher, who averages 10.5 points per game. Former Husky Miles Dixon and Jerran Young each average 9.5 points per game, with Young leading the Raiders on the boards with 5.3 per game. Friday's game will be the first meeting between HBU and Wright State.
 
Aaron Brown lead Southern Miss (3-0) with 14.3 points per game, and Daveon Boardingham also averages double figures at 11.7 points to go along with 6.7 rebounds per game. Michael Craig and Jerrold Brooks each score 9.7 points per game, with Craig leading the Golden Eagles with 7.0 rebounds per contest. The all-time series between HBU and Southern Miss is tied, 1-1, with HBU claiming an 81-72 win in the last meeting in Houston all the way back in 1975.
 
South Alabama (2-1) has four players scoring in double figures, led by Augustine Rubit, who is averaging a double-double with 14.3 points and 10.7 rebounds per game. Mychal Ammons averages 12.3, Antoine Allen 11.7 and Barrington Stevens 10.0 points per game. The Jaguars have never lost to the Huskies in six prior meetings, including a 91-62 win in the last meeting on Dec. 12, 2012, in Mobile.
 
Following the CBE Hall of Fame Classic, HBU has one game left on a five-game stretch away from home -- at Army Nov. 30 at Noon CDT. The Huskies return home against cross-town rival Rice Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m.
