BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The HBU men's soccer team will look to snap a three match winless streak when the Huskies play at Bakersfield Friday at 9 pm central, then UNLV on Sunday at 3 pm central.

HBU is 0-2-1 after having a six-match winning streak. The Huskies are 0-2-1 all-time against the Roadrunners. The two teams last met Oct. 19, 2012, as Bakersfield won in Houston, 4-1. Gyasi Zardes, who is now in the MLS, had a hat trick and recorded an assist in the match.

The series against UNLV is tied at 1-1-0, with HBU defeating the Rebels last October, 4-1. Christian Cruz scored twice, while Mark Gendi and Mateo Jimenez each had two assists.

HBU (7-4-1 overall, 2-2-1 WAC) went 0-1-1 last weekend at home, losing 3-0 to Grand Canyon, then tying Air Force, 1-1, in double overtime. The 'Lopes scored three second-half goals on Friday.

Tobenna Uzo scored his team-leading ninth goal of the season on Sunday. He is second in the conference in goals and points (18). He is tied for 12th in NCAA Division I in goals. Kyle Herbison is second on the team with seven points, while Kristopher Tyrpak and Patrick Toh each have six.

Between the pipes, Kevin Suarez is 2-1-1 with a 1.27 goals-against average, a .760 save percentage, and one shutout.

Bakersfield (4-7-2, 2-2-1 WAC) lost to West Division-leading Seattle, 2-1, Sunday. Hugo Vinales scored for Bakersfield.

Eduardo Calzada and Joe Masumiya lead the 'Runners with eight points, as Calzada has a team-leading four goals.

Nicolas Clever is 2-2-0 in goal with a 2.00 GAA, a .652 save percentage, and one shutout. Anthony Perez is 2-5-2 with a 2.12 GAA, a .688 save percentage, and two shutouts.

UNLV (4-9-0, 2-3-0 WAC) snapped a three-match losing streak with a 1-0 win over San José State on Sunday. Rodrigo Fuentes scored the eventual game winner in the 64th minute. The Rebels host Kansas City on Friday before hosting HBU.

Fuentes leads the Rebels with five goals and 13 points. He is one off the assist lead held by Salvador Bernal and Julian Portugal, who each have four helpers.

Ryan Harding is 2-6-0 in goal with a 1.21 GAA, a .778 save percentage, and two shutouts.
