TCU took the early lead with an unearned run in the first as Rivera led off the bottom of the inning with a walk, stole second and scored when Witte reached on an error. HBU answered back in the top of the second when junior rightfielder Kolby Arnst led off with a single and advanced all the way to third on a pair of wild pitches. Tully brought him home with a single to center to tie the game, 1-1.
The Horned Frogs reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the second, as Jordan singled up the middle, Joe Weik was hit by a pitch and both runners moved up on a balk. Davy Wright then lifted a sacrifice fly to right to give TCU a 2-1 lead. TCU broke the game open with three unearned runs in the bottom of the fifth. Taylor Featherston hit a two-out single to left, but Jason Coats reached on an error which should have ended the inning. Pena followed with a two-run double to left, then came home on Elander's double to left to push the lead to 5-1. The Horned Frogs tacked on a run in the eighth as Wright singled with two outs, Kyle Von Tungeln pinch ran, and eventually scored on a wild pitch.
The Huskies loaded the bases with no outs in the ninth, but Hetzler was picked off third and Arnst grounded into a double play to end the game.
The Huskies return to action when they host Prairie View A&M Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Husky Field.
