Senior midfielder Allison Abendschein scored a goal in each of HBU’s two matches this week to split with Rice and UTSA. In Friday’s 2-1 loss to Rice, she made a steal and streaked down the middle of the field for a goal to tie the Owls in the 66^th minute. After Rice retook the lead in the 86^th minute, she nearly tied the game again with a header in the game’s closing moments. With HBU clinging to a 1-0 lead against UTSA, Abendschein made a steal 30 yards out and beat the keeper to the right side in the 77^th minute to put away a 2-0 victory over the Roadrunners in the Huskies’ home opener Sunday.
