Sophomore Taylor Thomas matched the best-ever finish by an HBU track and field student-athlete, as she finished 29th in the women's long jump at the NCAA West Preliminary Round Thursday in Austin. Her leap of 5.93 meters/19-5.5 improved her position by 16 spots. She was part of the most successful track season since the program was reinstated in 2007-08, as she won the indoor women's long jump title in February, claiming the first Southland Conference championship in program history.
