Junior Kierstin Santana earned the bronze medal in the 800m in a phenomenal effort on Sunday at the Southland Conference Outdoor Championships. Running a 2:11.05, she dove at the finish line in a photo finish to defeat fourth-place finisher, Sam Houston State's Camry Grigsby, to earn a place at the podium. It is the Baytown, Texas, native's third outdoor medal in her collegiate career, fifth overall. Santana finished second in her heat in Saturday's preliminaries with a 2:12.85.
