HOUSTON, TX – The HCU men's and women's cross-country teams traveled across town for the Rice Invitational and posted multiple strong finishes.
In the women's 4k, freshman
Ariadna Navarro finished first overall and won the race, posting a time of 14:14.1. Fellow freshman
Noa Sancho finished fifth overall with a time of 14:55.4. Rounding out the top ten finishers for the Huskies,
Reyes Carrera earned a seventh-place finish, crossing the line at 15:10.2. The HCU women's squad finished second overall at the meet.
In the men's 5.2k race, newcomer
Grant Currier earned a fifth-place finish, with a time of 16:26.8. Sophomore
Gavin Almaguer posted a time of 16:54.4, earning himself ninth overall in the race. The HCU men's team also finished the meet second overall.
Both HCU cross country teams will compete next on Saturday, Oct. 3, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, at the Chile Pepper Festival, with the first race starting at 10:25 pm.
